What's special about Gtechniq C1 Crystal Lacquer?
C1 has been independently proven in the world's most respected weathering facility:
Where it proved to offer the best gloss retention of any other product tested. Over a simulated run of 3 years Arizona sunlight a C1 coated panel lost half the amount of gloss than its next best competitor and 1/3rd less gloss than the average score for all other products tested.
But gloss retention is only part of the story. C1 offers the following additional benefits:
Extreme Durability: Unlike regular polymer sealants, C1 actually becomes the functional surface of your car's paintwork. It does this by swapping part of its molecular structure with the surface molecules of your car's paintwork. This is a true chemical or covalent bond and as you can imagine this is a much strong bond than a physical bond which is how regular polymers and waxes adhere to your car's paintwork. In tests C1 outlasted dealer applied sealants by at least 10 times.
Scratch Resistance: C1 forms a sub micron cyrstalline film which is extremely hard. This characteristic makes c1 extremely effective at preventing minor scratching from poor wash technique on relatively soft automotive paint. We have run tests comparing c1 coated panels with uncoated and against panels coated with various high end carnauba waxes and polymer sealants. On average c1 coated panels exhibited 50% less marring.
Water and dirt repellency: C1 is a biomimetic coating. It mimics the repellence of plants that repel water and dirt in order to keep their leaves clean. The most commonly cited example in nature is the leaf of the lotus plant which if you examine under an electron microscope looks like.

No the C1 product must be installed by a Licenced Gtechniq Applicator, always be sure to ask for proof that the installer is a licenced applicator for Gtechniq products. You can visit www.gtechniq.com.au for a list of licenced applicators within your state.
"What do I need to do before before bringing my vehicle in for a Gtechniq C1 Paint Protection?"
Your vehicle must be fully cleaned, although we do a pre-clean prior to installation to remove any pollutants or foreign chemicals, if the vehicle arrives dirty and required a detail or rejuvenation work we would not be able to apply the Gtechniq C1 Paint Protection for the price quoted. Please be sure to deliver a clean vehicle because once the C1 has been applied any original damage to the paint such as scratches and swirls marks shall be sealed under the Gtechniq C1 coating. We can arrange and recommend a paint rejuvenation if you are unsure about your paint quality.
"Is Gtechniq C1 Paint Protection applied by Buffer or by Hand?"
Because Gtechniq is a professional chemically bonded sealant and not a polish or wax substance it cannot be applied by machine and must be installed by a skilled applicator by hand.

Yes Gtechniq comes with a 5 year warranty with 18 months top ups and inspection periods, this helps to safeguard your paintwork because we cannot establish how our customers will treat their vehicles once they have left our premises. This way we can inspect the vehicle after 18 months and give you the best advice and recommendation to how extend the life of your vehicles’ paint work.
"Can Gtechniq C1 Paint Protection harm my paintwork?"
No, Gtechniq C1 will only enhance the look of your vehicle’s painted surface. It is not in any way harmful to your vehicles painted surface. Gtechniq C1 is a protective coating for the surface of your vehicle.
"How soon after purchasing a new car should I apply Gtechniq C1 Paint Protection?"
As soon as possible. The better the painted surface, the better the results Gtechniq C1 will provide. Your car is a very valuable asset, you want to preserve the value of your motor vehicle. It is preferable to apply Gtechniq C1 as soon as possible after purchasing your vehicle.
"Does Gtechniq C1 Paint Protection protect against scratches?"
NO, Gtechniq C1 gives chemical protections that will bonds with your clear coat and paint. It will however reduce the the chances of swirling and light scratching when washing your vehicle do to the chemical coating and hydrophobic surface it creates. It will not protect your car from heavy scratching. Try 3M PPF film which will give a physical protection that can prevent heavy scratching.
